    Create files right where you click.

    Plain text, Markdown, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JSON, shell scripts and more: 12 types built in, plus any file you save as your own template. Name clashes get a number. Nothing is overwritten.

    Your folders, one step away.

    Copy To and Move To list the folders you choose. Favorite Folders opens them in Finder with one click. Large jobs show progress and can be cancelled at any time.

    Downloads, Desktop and Documents are set up for you.

    Open it in Terminal or your editor.

    Terminals open the folder. Editors open the item itself. RightKit finds Terminal, Ghostty, Visual Studio Code and Xcode on first launch, and you can add any app.

    16 small tools in one submenu.

    Only the commands that fit your selection appear: image tools for images, Dissolve Folder for folders. Turn off or reorder any of them.

    Does RightKit cost anything?

    No. Every feature is free, and the source code is on GitHub.

    Which macOS do I need?

    macOS 26 or later. RightKit is built on the native macOS 26 interface and doesn't support earlier versions.

    I installed it, but the menu doesn't show up.

    Open System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions and turn on the RightKit Finder extension. RightKit's Settings window also shows the extension's status.

    Why is there no menu in some folders?

    The menu only appears in folders you authorize. Authorizing your home folder on first launch is recommended, and you can change it in Settings > General.

    Are my files uploaded?

    No. All file operations happen on your Mac. Only when you choose Translate is the selected text sent to the translation site you picked.

    Is Delete Permanently safe?

    It skips the Trash, so RightKit asks first by default. System folders and your home folder are protected and can't be deleted.

    Can I add my own file templates?

    Yes. Add any file as a template under New File in Settings. RightKit keeps its own copy.

    Which languages are supported?

    English and Simplified Chinese. It follows your system by default, and you can switch in Settings.
